How to Make a Decent Banner for YouTube in Photoshop

What’s up people, today I’m gonna show you how you can make a decent YouTube banner in Photoshop. A good banner can make your channel look a lot better and professional. You need to have two images before you start. First is the image you want to use as the background, second is the ‘YouTube Banner Guidelines Template’ that you will have to download from Google images. So, once you’re ready, open Photoshop and follow these steps.

First of all go to ‘file’ and click on ‘new’. Set the width at 2560 pixels and height at 1440 pixels. Then drag and drop the Banner template downloaded from Google images. Then drop the image you want to use as the background and decrease its opacity so that you can see the guidelines as well as the image.

Then write your text in the centre of the darkest grey are of the template. Then right click on the text layer and go to ‘Blending Options’ and apply ‘Gradient Overlay’, ‘Drop Shadow’ and ‘Outer Glow’. Adjust the settings and make sure to increase the opacity to 100% before you save the image.
