How to Remove the Background Noise from Your Recordings in Audacity

What’s up everyone, today I’m gonna show you how you can remove background noise from your audio recordings to make them sound a bit more professional and clean in Audacity. You can download Audacity for free from their official website.

First thing you need to do is hit the record button and wait for about 2 – 3 seconds before you start speaking. In those 2 or 3 seconds, we will pick up the noise sample that we will use to remove noise from the entire track.

After you are done recording, grab the selection tool and select about one second of noise sample that we picked up in the beginning. Then, go to ‘Effect’ and select ‘Noise Reduction’.

Click on ‘Get noise profile’ and select the whole track that you recorded. Then, go to ‘Noise Reduction’ again and hit ‘OK’. That will remove the background noise from your recording.

So, that is how you can remove noise from your recording in Audacity. For more details, watch the video below.

How to Make a Decent Banner for YouTube in Photoshop

What’s up people, today I’m gonna show you how you can make a decent YouTube banner in Photoshop. A good banner can make your channel look a lot better and professional. You need to have two images before you start. First is the image you want to use as the background, second is the ‘YouTube Banner Guidelines Template’ that you will have to download from Google images. So, once you’re ready, open Photoshop and follow these steps.

First of all go to ‘file’ and click on ‘new’. Set the width at 2560 pixels and height at 1440 pixels. Then drag and drop the Banner template downloaded from Google images. Then drop the image you want to use as the background and decrease its opacity so that you can see the guidelines as well as the image.

Then write your text in the centre of the darkest grey are of the template. Then right click on the text layer and go to ‘Blending Options’ and apply ‘Gradient Overlay’, ‘Drop Shadow’ and ‘Outer Glow’. Adjust the settings and make sure to increase the opacity to 100% before you save the image.

How to Give a Film Look to Your Videos in Sony Vegas

Today I’m gonna show you how you can give a film look to your videos in Sony Vegas. We’ll take a video shot on mobile phone or camera and try to make it look like a movie in three steps.

First step is crop. As you know, almost all the Hollywood movies are shot in super widescreen and that’s why they have those black bars at the top and bottom. So, we’ll use crop to get those black bars in our video. So, just click on the ‘Event pan/crop’ icon on the video track and make sure that ‘Size About Center’ is selected on left side of the panel. Then just drag the video from top or bottom (as shown in the picture). You will see the black bars on the top and bottom of the video. After you get the satisfactory size of the black bars, just close the window.

Second step is color correction. Just go to video effects tab and find ‘color corrector’. In color corrector, select ‘Default’ and drag it on to the video track. Then go to presets and you’ll find various options such as ‘Red Midtones’, ‘Green Midtones’, ‘Red Highlight’. Here, you’ll have to decide, which preset will suit your video. So, select each of them one by one and decide what works for you. Usually, ‘Red Midtones’ or ‘Red Highlight’ suits the best.

Third step is Color Curves. In this step, just go to ‘video fx’ tab and find ‘Color Curves’. Again, Drag and drop the ‘Default’ on to your video track. You’ll see a new window pop up in which all you have to do move the handle on the top of the line a little bit up and the handle on the bottom of the line, a little bit down (as shown in the image).
After that, you can just render your video by clicking on 'Render As'.
